President Lungu appoints Justice Musonda as acting Deputy Chief Justice

President Edgar Lungu has appointed Supreme Court Justice, Michael Musonda as Acting Deputy Chief Justice.

In a letter to judges and judicial staff dated March 20, 2019, Hon. Chief Justice Ireen Mambilima stated that President Lungu had designated Justice Michael Musonda to act as Deputy Chief Justice.

Last week, the Supreme Court held a Valedictory Session to mark the retirement of Deputy Chief Justice Hon Marvin Sitwala Mwanamwambwa.

Justice Michael Musonda is a former LAZ president and; a former tutor and lecturer at the University of Zambia, Law School.

He is also a former Managing Partner at M. Musonda &Co Legal Practitioners.

He holds a Master of Philosophy(M. Phil) from Oxford University, and a Masters of Law from King’s College of London.
School of Law.

He also holds a University of Zambia, Bachelor of Laws, 1982 – 1986; and the Law Practice Institute, Legal Practitioner’s training, 1986 – 1988;
