By JOHN SAKALA
Eastern Police Chief Lackson Sakala says his office is working out a mechanism to prevent bikers from night operational to curb attacks on motorcyclists.
Mr Sakala says his office has been receiving numerous reports concerning the attacks of motorbike riders during their operations at night.
He said a lot of riders have been victims of robberies who pretend to be customers and later on attack them mercilessly.
“We are concerned with security and we will try by all means to prevent motorbikes and cyclists moving in the awkward hours. The restriction of the operation will be from 20:00 hours to 05:00 hours. Those found wanting will they.
“Of late some police officers have been conducting a night patrol in order to ensure that there is no operational of the two wheel machines after 20:00 hours. We urge the riders of motorbikes to refrain from moving at night,” he said/ZANIS.
