PF wins Kafue Council Chairperson

The PF has won the Kafue District Council Chairperson by-election held on Wednesday, March 27.

PF candidate, Moono Simakoloyi got 9,252 votes.

Retired Brigadier-General Simakoloyi’s rival Beatrice Kayuni of the UPND polled 8,650 votes.

Returning Officer, Kaheko Kafuti declared Brigadier-General Simakoloyi as the winner at 03 AM in the morning.

There was jubilation among the PF members as Retired Brigadier General Simakoloyi was announced as winner.

The Kafue District Council Chairperson position fell vacant following the resignation of Thomas Zulu of the UPND.
