An Indian company that manufactures electric motor three wheelers has urged Zambia to consider the promotion of the use of Eco- friendly transportation systems among Zambians.
RASANDIK Engineering Industries Managing Director Rajiv Kapoor says his company has since decided that effective this year, it will be taking part in Zambia’s investment expos and commercial shows in order to enter the Zambian market.
Mr Kapoor said the company is focusing on the manufacturing of zero noise electric motor three wheelers especially that the cost of fuel continues to rise.
He says the three wheelers are also helpful in empowering the vulnerable groups in society who cannot buy a car so that they can equally transport farm produce and other goods for the growth of the Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises -SMES.
This came to light when staff from Zambia High Commission in India toured RASANDIK Engineering Industries in Greater Noida, in the Indian State of Uttar Pradesh.
Mr Kapoor said the electric motor three wheelers can go to hard to reach areas where cars cannot easily reach.
He said the three wheelers are cost effective especially in hotel tours and airports and that they have been designed for garbage collection, passenger and mobile shops therefore making their use multipurpose.
Mr Kapoor says the company trains clients on how to service the electric motor three wheelers which are now designed to carry five people for the longest distance of EIGHTY kilometres and top speed of FIFTY kilometers per hour.
And Zambia’s High Commissioner Judith Kapijimpanga urged Mr Kapoor that investing in Zambia is the best decision he can make as Zambia has the best incentives for investment.
