The Ministry of Defence says it is in the process of procuring a 4-hundred- and 70-hectare farmland to expand the Zambia National Service Production unit in Choma.
Defence Permanent Secretary Stardy Mwale who was in Choma to inspect the farmland says negotiations are underway between the Ministry and the Seller who is a commercial farmer in the district.
ZANIS reports that the ZNS Choma unit has over the years increased production in both crop and livestock.
The 4-hundred- and 39-hectare unit is currently lacking space for its agricultural activities as the number of cattle at the farm has outstripped the farm unit.
