ZNBC Rooftop film maker dies while filming funeral

Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) TV2 Rooftop film maker Munyemesha Munyemesha has died after falling off a moving vehicle while filming a funeral procession in Kabwe, ZNBC has confirmed his death.

Munyemesha the director and film maker of Rooftop died in the early hours of yesterday August 26 close to midnight.

The accident leading to his death happened last Tuesday.

Munyemesha had been unconscious since the accident.

“Munyemesha met his fate in Kabwe while shooting a funeral video in Kabwe. He was in the back of a Toyota Hilux shooting and after the car he was in sped over a hump, he lost grip of the camera and while trying to shield it, he left himself vulnerable and fell out of the vehicle and landed on his head, leaving himself with serious head injuries.

“After the incident, Munyemesha was rushed to Kabwe General Hospital where he was admitted and was unconscious from Tuesday last week until this morning when he answered the Lord’s call,” a friend said.

Munyemesha was the founder and Chief Executive Officer of The film factory and he was the man shooting ZNBC’s The Roof Top entertainment programme.

He also produced a Gospel Album where he featured his wife on one of the songs.

ZNBC Corporate Affairs Manager Yvette Chanda said the corporation was saddened by the death of Munyemesha.

MS Chanda said Munyemesha was a talented Cameraperson, Producer and Director, who contributed immensely to the growth of the entertainment industry in Zambia.

Munyemesha 36, died around 23:30hrs last night at the Kabwe General Hospital where he was admitted, after he was involved in a road accident in Kabwe, on Tuesday last week.

He is survived by a wife Kona and four children.
