Zimbabwe’s President Emmerson Mnangagwa has congratulated President Elect Hakainde Hichilema for winning the presidential election.
Mr Mnangagwa said the election of Mr Hichilema to the highest office is testimony of the confidence and trust the people of Zambia have in the leadership to guide the country to a prosperous future.
“I want to assure Mr Hichilema that I will work closely with him to solidify and deepen the cordial relations that exist between the Zambia and Zimbabwe for the mutual benefits our people,” he said.
Mr Mnangagwa added that he is ready to work closely with the UPND Government at regional, continental and international levels to advance the ideals of development, peace and stability.
Mr Mnangagwa has since wished president elect Hichilema good health and success in the discharge of his responsibilities.
