By IREEN MULENGA
Zesco says some unscrupulous people purporting to be Zesco employees are stealing money from people in exchange for employment.

And Zesco Public Relations Manager Hazel Zulu says the company has warned the public against these people purporting to be employees of Zesco soliciting money from unsuspecting members of the public.

Ms Zulu said the fraudsters are impersonating Zesco employees and are claiming to have privileged information and connections within Zesco.

“We would like to emphasize that Zesco Limited is an equal opportunity employer with well-structured employment systems and procedures and will at no time request potential applicants to make any payment during the recruitment process.

“We further wish to state that any available employment opportunities are advertised in mainstream media and the official Zesco Limited website.

Ms Zulu has urged the members of the public that any victims of such scams to report fraudulent individuals so that they are brought to book.
