Champions Zesco United have kicked off their FAZ Super Division title defense with a 2-0 win over promoted side Chambishi at home in Ndola.
Zesco’s league campaign was delayed by CAF Champions League engagement.
In the midweek match against Chambishi at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, Zesco took a 1-0 lead into the half time break.
Zimbabwean star Tafadzw Rusike put Zesco in the lead when unlocking a powerful shot that rattled the back of the Chambishi net after 23 minutes.
Super substitute Edward Lungu doubled Zesco’s lead after scoring a beauty of a goal created by Kelvin Mubanga in the 73rd minute.
Lungu had replaced first goal scorer Rusike earlier in the 55th minute.
Meanwhile, Zesco moved to three points after playing one match.
