Zambia Super League defending Champions, Zesco United have arrived in Eswatini ahead of this Saturday’s CAF Champions League preliminary round first leg encounter against Royal Leopards FC.
Speaking to the ZamFoot Crew upon touch down at King Mswati international airport, Zesco United head coach, Numba Mumba said the preparation for the match went well and the team had traveled with the best squad also indicating that his boys are ready for the match.
Numba also went on to declare the Ndola-based outfit ready for the showdown.
“I must say our preparations have been going on well since we started our preseason and the team is ready for the challenge ahead we don’t have any injury which is a positive part for our team,” Numba said.
“We expect a tough game looking at the opponents we will be playing against but we are equally a better team. I think we have the manpower to get a positive result.”
“Looking at the way our players (Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba, Spencer Sautu, Dickson Chapa, Solomon Sakala, and Gregory Sanjase) performed at the national team it’s a plus,” he added.
Zesco United on Saturday returns to CAF inter-clubs Competitions after a year of absence and the Zesco United all-time top scorer Jackson Jesse Were is confident that his team will pick a win in Eswatini.
“I can say that we are ready, we have been preparing since the start of the season, our fitness levels are up, we don’t know much about our opponents but football is played on the pitch and 90 minutes is what is going to determine but even if they are not well known (Royal Leopards) us we are ready,” Were said.
The match will be played on Saturday 11 September 2021 at Mabuso sports ground with kick-off set for 15:00hrs.
