ZEHEST embarks on empowering people with special needs

The Zambian Empowerment Hub for Entrepreneurship and Skills Training (ZEHEST) has embarked on a Training Empowerment project to physically challenged people, with a target of 500 for a start out of the targeted 2500.

ZEHEST Executive Director Clarence Muzyamba said the project will be done in the period of 3months, and will commence in April, 2022, as part of the action plan for 2022.

Mr Muzyamba said that ZEHEST want to supplement government’s efforts by ensuring that the less privileged such as the people living with disabilities are given a priority to sustain their livelihood.

He said the main purpose of this program is aimed at changing their lives with skills, just like any other citizens.

“We therefore call upon other key stakeholders to collaborate with us and help us to achieve this life survival skills project to better the lives of people”. He said.

Mr Muzyamba said among additional skills are sales, marketing and financial literacy, besides the already available skills already offered to youths such as carpentry, tailoring, bricklaying, agriculture and metal fabrication.
