ZAPRA’s President Irene Chipili appointed to Africa’s Council of Communicators

Zambia Public Relations Association (ZAPRA) President Irene Chipili has been appointed to the Africa Regional Council of the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management.

Kenya’s Peterson Integrated Communications Limited Chief Executive Officer, Peter Mutie, has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Africa Global Alliance Regional Council.

Other members of Africa Regional Council are Herbert Muhire from Public Relations Association of Rwanda, Patience Nyange from Public Relations Society of Kenya, Victor Sibeko, from Public Relations Institute of Southern Africa, South Africa and Wole Adamolekun, a Senior Lecturer at the Mass Communication Department of Elizade University in Nigeria.

This is according to the latest edition 34 of the Global Alliance online newsletter released on March 29, 2022.

Commenting on the appointment, Ms Chipili said Zambia will greatly benefit on communication matters from Global Alliance’s network of more than 320,000 PR and communication management professionals across the globe.

Ms Chipili said she would use her position to raise the bar on professional standards around PR and communication.

Global Alliance, which is based in Switzerland, aim to unify the public relations profession, raise professional standards all over the world, share knowledge for the benefit of its members and be the global voice for public relations in the public interest.

The Alliance is represented by Councils in six regions namely Europe, North America, Latin America, Africa, Asia-Pacific and Middle East-South Asia.
