Zamtel opens new Customer Service Centre in Mumbwa

The people of Mumbwa have something to cheer about this Christmas after Zamtel opened a new Customer Service Centre in the district.

The new Customer Service Centre is located in the Central Business District and is a one stop facility for all Zamtel product and service related issues.

The Mumbwa outlet is one of the more than 100 that Zamtel has opened this year across the country, creating more than 500 job opportunities for local people.

Officiating at the unveiling ceremony on Wednesday, Mumbwa District Council Chairperson Charlie Masumo commended Zamtel for the initiative of bringing a Customer Service Centre in Mumbwa.

Mr Masumo however stated that there is need for more mobile phone towers to improve network coverage across the district.

Mr Masumo observed that Mumbwa still has a number of places where mobile phone coverage is still a challenge.

He has since appealed to mobile service providers to install additional towers to ensure the district is fully covered.

Mr Masumo said the opening of a Zamtel Customer Service Centre will go a long way in resolving some of the challenges Zamtel customers face in Mumbwa.

And speaking earlier, Zamtel Acting Chief Commercial Officer Keith Banda urged Mumbwa residents to be proud and support Zamtel as it is the only mobile phone service company fully owned by Zambians.

“We have to be proud of the Zamtel we are building. As we speak, Zamtel has the best call quality, best internet speeds and we have done a lot of work this year on the network. These are developments we should all be proud of,” Mr. Banda said.
