By CLOZZEN BIKALE
Chief Matebo  Nyeleti of the Kaonde people of Kalumbila district has called on the Zambia central  statistics to consider introducing a hard copy way of application for 2022 national census s opposed to only the online method.

Speaking to the media in solwezi district, Chief Matebo said the method is not favorable and not user friendly for most youths in rural area.

The traditional leader said the method is also demanding one to use the internet and smartphones, which is not possible for the people in villages.

“The online application for the enumerators will disadvantage many youths in rural areas of Matebo chiefdom, the Network connectivity in rural areas is a challenge and many young people do not have the smart phone that they can use to apply a situation that has the potential to leave out people in the rural communities,” he said.

Chief Matebo has since called on the Zambia central statistics to consider extending the deadline and introducing the hard copy application modes to enable all young people in rural areas to apply.
