The Zambia Medicines Regulatory Authority (ZAMRA) and its collaborating partners have unearthed a scam in which some unscrupulous traders are illegally selling Covid-19 test kits.
ZAMRA senior public relations officer Christabel Iliamupu said that the suspects whose names have been withheld for investigation purposes were arrested and charged for illegal placement Covid-19 test kits
“The authority in collaboration with Zambia police and health professions of Zambia have unearthed a scam were some traders have been selling Covid-19 test kits to unsuspecting members of the public, the suspects have since been released on police bond pend court appeal,” she said.
Ms Iliamupu urged members of the public to weary of such unscrupulous people and always ensure that they get their Covid-19 tests done at authorized health facilities.
“In a related incident, the authority seized consignments of Ivermectin tablets from health cure pharmacy limited, in Lusaka, proprietors of said outlets have been warned and cautioned for illegal sale and placement of Ivermectin without proper documentation, she said.
