Copperbelt based retrenched Zambia Postal Services Cooperation –ZAMPOST workers have appealed to government to consider paying them their terminal benefits.
Speaking in an interview, one of the retrenched worker Godfrey Handondo said that in addition to pending benefits, the workers have also not received their monthly salaries for 32 months as per existing labor laws.
And Loveness Chongo who is also a retrenched worker said that the government should consider funding them like they have funded other sectors.
Another retrenched worker Anthony Nkandu also complained that he has not received his benefits having worked for so many years.
” I have worked for ZAMPOST for 20 years and I have stayed for six years without getting my benefits, this has made our livelihood difficult,” he said.
Mr Nkandu has appealed to President Lungu and the government to look in to their plight stating that they have families that needs to be taken care of.
