Dear Editor,
Every country in the world is governed by its Constitution which is the supreme law of the land.
The Constitution represents the common and shared values under which a nation agrees to govern itself and any citizen or foreigner who goes against the Constitution of the land goes against the agreed and shared values of that nation and breaks the law.
Zambia is a sovereign nation governed through the Constitution. No one is above the Constitution. We are One Nation One Zambia. It’s against this background that any activities or behavior that goes against the common and agreed shared values of the nation should be condemned in the strongest terms possible and the law applied rightfully to deter immoral conduct.
It’s a known fact that Zambia is a Christian nation as enshrined in her Constitution and the government doesn’t champion homosexuality and whoever goes against the law invites wrath upon themselves.
The Bible is very clear as to why authorities exist and I quote; “Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority?
Then do what is right and you will be commended. For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason.
They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. Romans 13:1-4 NIV
What this nation witnessed on 4th March, 2023 in Lusaka when members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) community maquarending as protestors against gender based violence yet chosing to promote LGBTQ activities can not go scot-free. Any person in their rightful mind can concluded that the organisers didn’t mean well and betrayed the peace of many Zambians because they lied in their initial request for the permit that they will march against gender based violance from East park to the Showgrounds Rugby club grounds.
The Zambia Police Service granted the non-governmental organisation permission to march based on the reasons they had advanced in their application letter and Danny Mwale, Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, said they gave them the permit because cases against gender based violence (GBV) showed increased levels as detected by the Police Victims Support Unit. It’s rather shameful that the organisers betrayed that trust granted to them by the police and chose to advance other causes which go against the common and shared values of this land and against the order of nature. Our memories are still fresh to similar events in September, 2021 were LGBTQ activists palladed themselves in all manner of style and colour to frown upon our Constitution as a people.
This rot should be nipped in the bud or else all our efforts towards national development should be forgotten because no nation developments through moral decay. This deception being propagated by some secret organisations and some Westen nations is a ploy to destruct gullible Africans from developing their meaningful potential at personal and national level. Wake up Zambia, wake up Africa, this rot doesn’t mean well but a continued ploy to continue enslaving while resources are taken out to develop their countries.
The law must be effected to the fullest and bring the organisers of the 4 Match event to book. Freedom of expression and assembly that is being enjoyed in this nation shouldn’t be taken for a ride because we may have ourselves to blame as a nation in the near future.
The reason the law exists is because man left to self without limits turns into a beast of destruction. It’s sad that the 4 Match event had pictures of children palladed with placards promoting immoral conduct instead of training our boys and girls upright moral behaviour that promotes human dignity, they are busy destroying them.
It’s every good intention of most parents and guardians to try to teach their children right from wrong, to be honest and to respect others by living morally clean lives and love their families. Its therefore important to and I quote “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Prov. 22:6
May all well meaning individuals, the church and other organisations stand up firmly to voice out against the many rot being witnessed in our time.
