Zambia wins bid to host 34th APRA conference

Zambia has won a bid to host the 34th African Public Relations Association (APRA) Conference to be held in Lusaka in May, 2023.

The announcement was made today at the just ended 33rd APRA Conference held in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania from May 23 -27, 2022 under the theme “Africa’s Resilience and Global Competitiveness: the Challenge for Public Relations”.

Zambia Public Relations Association (ZAPRA) President Irene Chipili  said that they are  pleased with this opportunity to host the continental event for professional communicators.

Ms Chipili said APRA is a professional Association established to foster unity through interaction and exchange of ideas among Public Relations (PR) practitioners and Communication Specialists in Africa.

She said Zambian PR and Communication Specialists will benefit from vast professional engagement through this Conference in addition to  the opportunity to boost tourism for the country.

The APRA 2023 Conference will be held at an opportune time when the Government of the Republic of Zambia has placed a premium on supporting PR Practitioners and Communication Specialists in the country.

This is being done through the ongoing process of enacting the Zambia Institute of Public Relations and Communication (ZIPRAC) bill under the Ministry of Information and Media.
