Zambia under-20 storm COSAFA semis

The Zambia Under-20 men’s’ football team has booked a semi-final spot at the ongoing COSAFA under 20 Championship after beating Malawi by 2 goals to nil.

Striker Jimmy Mukeya netted a brace to hand the junior Chipolopolo their semi-final ticket.

Joshua Mutale made a run and set up Mukeya in the 22nd minute to open the scoring.

Malawi tried to find their way back into the game, but Zambia stood strong at the back.

The Junior Chipolopolo started the second half brightly and threatened on several occasions.

Mukeya finally got his brace on 67 minutes after making a clever run.

Zambian Goalkeeper Patrick Chooma made a fantastic save after Malawi went through on goal, injuring himself in the process.

And in the MTN/FAZ Super league, Zanaco beat Napsa stars by 2 goals to one.

Baba Basile got Zanaco’s opener early in the first half courtesy of Chisamba Lungu.

NAPSA pulled an equaliser through Jacob Ngulube shortly before half time.

Zanaco were however too strong for Napsa Stars as Moses Phiri made an excellent strike with little space given.
