Zambia Metal Fabricators Boss woos manufacturing investors

By JOHN SAKALA
A Zambian Business Executive has called on global manufacturing firms to set up manufacturing companies in Zambia.

Metal Fabricators of Zambia Managing Director Roseta Mwape Chabala appealed to investors to take advantage of Zambia’s revised industrialisation policy.

She was speaking at an International manufacturing Indaba held in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Ms Chabala, who is also the immediate past President of Zambia Association of Manufacturers said Zambia offered comparative advantage owing to its strategic market opportunities.

She said Zambia was a gateway to the regional and continent market for various products.

“The locally produced raw materials for most of finished products were sourced from Zambia, as such, offered better economies of scale.

“The establishment of manufacturing industries in Zambia was an urgent necessity as it would help create employment. Zambia is ripe for industrialisation due to policies and legislation that have promoted the growth of the manufacturing sector in the last few years,” she said.

The Indaba drew participation of both Continental and regional manufacturers, who were discussing the industrialisation necessity on the African continent.

This is according to the media statement by First Secretary for Press and Public Relations at the Zambian at the Zambian Embassy in South Africa Naomi Nyawali.
