Zambia ideal for digital regional connectivity

Technology and Science  Minister Felix Mutati has called on META, formerly Facebook, to embark on a collaborative roadmap with the government (MoTS) and establish digital hubs in the Southern African region.

He said this in order to solve the digital entrepreneurship transformation and create opportunities of the savvy digital world.

The Minister said with collaborative META – Liquid Telecom fibre connectivity underway to Angola, Zambia is advantaged with an opportunity to centrally connect neighbouring countries as a main hub in the region.

Mr Mutati said the practicable of META connectivity output lies in the digital skills, digital entrepreneurship and implementation work on Zambia so as to establish a digital hub in view of its locality.

He said barely 3 months, the government has placed better premium on the digital transformation hence the practical – partnership of niches are giving a direction to creation of central hub in the first quarter of 2022.

He emphasized on the implemetation practical aspects of advanced digital space levels away from common applications virtuals.

Mr Mutati was speaking today at a meeting, at his office, with META.

And META Head of Public Policy in the Southern Africa Region Nomonde Gongxeka – Seopa said META collaboratively intend to develop on trainer digital mechanism skills that will subsequently be repricated for inclusiveness, she said her company is strategically committed with connectivity interface enhancement and proliferation of more packages by mobile network providers so as to meet communication reduction costs.
