International Monetary Fund (IMF) Resident Representative Preya Sharma says Zambia has performed strongly under the Fund supported programme.
Ms Sharma said the Country has met all the quantitative targets and has met 9 of the Reform targets.
Speaking during the town hall forum on the 2023 mid-year economic performance in Lusaka today, Ms. Sharma said this is a notable achievement given the challenging economic environment that the country has been faced with.
She noted that quick progress has also been made towards 3 headline objectives of the Fund Supported programme which include restoring fiscal and debt sustainability.
Ms. Sharma said Zambia has also made progress to increase social spending and strengthen economic governance.
