Zambia Army told to remain patriotic to Zambians

Zambia Army Commander General William Sikazwe says President Edgar Lungu is proud of the army’s loyalty to the people of Zambia.

General Sikazwe has urged the men and women in uniform to remain patriotic as they continue providing security to the country.

He said President Lungu expects a high level of professionalism from the soldiers especially as Zambia heads to the August 12 polls.

“I want advise men and women in inform to remain loyal to the government of the day and the people of Zambia by ensuring peace before, during and after the elections, for the army’s role in a democratic dispensation is to provide a peaceful environment that allows the citizens to exercise their democratic rights without fear,” he said.

General Sikazwe was speaking in Livingstone when he addressed Zambia Army soldiers and officers at the Army School of Ordinance, he is in Southern and western visiting operation area.
