Youths should be beacon of peace and unity

As a Youth Activist, I’m distressed to learn that the violence that is being witnessed in the places where by-elections are taking place is being engineered by us young people whose interest I feel should be maintaining peace, Justice, unity so on and so forth.

In stead of being the beacon of peace and unity we have decided to allow some egoistic politicians to use us as tools of ferocious to fight their opponents in order to assume political power.

Belonging to a political party of our choice is not a crime but why fighting among ourselves for the people who do not even care about our lives? Because if they really care about us, they should be considering the risks of violence but to the contrary they only recognize us as their weapons to fight their opponents. They can scoff at each other but never fight physically. So why should we their minions fight each other?

Therefore, as the young people let us not allow the same politicians to take advantage of our problems by saying no to be used as tools of violence and focus on looking for solutions to the challenges which beset the majority youths in this nation. And I urge all my fellow youths in the areas where by-elections are taking place to embrace peace and unity, and vote for the candidates they feel will help reduce their problems and bring development in their respective regions.
