Solwezi Mayor Remmy Kalepa says that youths have the ability to transform the society leading to the achievement of sustainable development.
Mr Kalepa said that young people are tremendous and essential assets worth investing in.
The Mayor was speaking during the Solwezi Municipal Council organized youth symposium, he said that they is more to being a youth as it entails endless possibilities, creativity and energy
He said youths face many challenges among them unemployment but life gives them a variety of opportunities to better their lives like they have been given this chance to acquire knowledge.
Mr Kalepa said the symposium has the potential of transforming the lives the youths by being equipped with rich information needed to succeed in various faculties of life.
He urged the youths to continue aligning themselves with people that can have a positive impact on they lives and make daring decisions that will propel development of Solwezi and the Nation at large.
Mr Kalepa said that the Local Authority is committed to the development of young people, ensuring that they develop and optimize opportunities in order to take-up more positions of leadership in society.
He said the Municipality will continue supporting such initiatives that help youths to get out of poverty, become self-sustaining and make meaningfully contribute to the development process.
