Work hard while you still have extra energy youths urged

World Youth and Leadership foundation has urged youths to stand and work extra hard while they are still youths with extra energy.

Director General World Youth and Leadership Foundation Nalishebo Nyambe also said that gone are the days when youths woke up stressed because of lack of employment.

Mr Nyambe said that youths should not wait until they are old to work hard and improve they lives when they have chance and time.

He said that the foundation has noted with concern that youth unemployment levels are increasing citing last year’s statistics which was at 52. 5 percent.

Mr Nyambe said the situation is bad especially that the population of the country is youths.

He said his organization has come up with different projects to help youths get involved in employment creation so that they can start helping other youths find jobs in their communities.

He said in most cases youths have continued looking for employment and they are not much opportunities out they hence engaging them in projects.

“The projects are entrepreneurship and empowerment programs that will help youths to come up with projects that can help them with employment in their communities. Like we have embarked on a an agriculture program to empower 10, 000 youths across the country,” he said.

Mr Nyambe also said the foundation is launching a program called Leadership Entrepreneurship and Mentorship program aimed at enhancing the education of the youths in the country by providing different youths with scholarship.

“We have talked to various institution and stakeholders to help with scholarships and other education programs, we want to make our education system attractive so that other countries can emulate and come and learn in Zambia. We need our own Zambians to be educated in Zambia,” he said.
