A-27- year old woman of Kitwe’s Garnerton area has been killed by unknown people.
The body of Energy Chikwakwa was found in unfinished church building with no visible injuries, and it is suspected that she might have been raped before being murdered
And Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer Peacewell Mweemba said the incident occurred on June 13, between 19:00 and 07:00 hours of June 14, 2023
“Brief facts are that the victim had no fixed abode but her mother who is also Enedy Chikwakwa who stays in Kawama Township, Kitwe said her daughter was normally found moving from one bar to another, and on June 13, 2023 she was seen moving around in Zambia Township Garneton Kitwe,” he said.
Mr Mweemba said police also visited the scene crime where it was discovered that the body was lying in unfinished church building for Abandant Lighthouse Ministry International with no visible injuries.
“However, it is suspected that the victim could have been raped before being killed as her pants were pulled down towards the knee,” he said.
Mr Mweemba said that the body was taken to Kitwe Teaching Hospital mortuary waiting for postmortem.
