Woman killed in Chililabombwe

Police in Chililabombwe have picked up the body of unknown woman believed to have been murdered by unknown people.

Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer Peacewell Mweemba said Justin Nkanka 21, reported that he found a dead body of an unknown woman aged between 30 to 40, who was murdered by unknown people.

Mr Mweemba said the body was lying on the ground completely naked with a deep cut on the stomach.

He said that the reporter went to the bush on April 4, 2023 at about 0800hrs with his mother to pluck some mushrooms.

“Whilst on the way they saw an unknown female person lying on the ground facing up. When they went closer, he discovered that the deceased had a deep cut on the stomach, and the body was lifeless. They rushed to Petroda check point to report where he was advised to report the matter at Kasumbalesa police post,” he said.

Mr Mweemba said Police visited the scene and after inspecting the body it was discovered that the deceased had a deep cut on the stomach and part of the intestines were out, a cut on the left arm, cuts on both legs and the whole body had blood stains.

He said  a sharp instrument is believed to have been used in the act.

A docket has opened, and investigations instituted.
