Police in Luanshya have picked up a-26-year-old married woman and her boyfriend to help with investigations in the death of the woman’s husband who died in unclear circumstances
Copperbelt Police Acting Commanding Officer Sharon Zulu said that on July 19, 2022 at 07:00 hours Chewe Francis the cousin to the late victim decided to go to the house to check on him.
Ms Zulu said when he reached the house, he found Loveness Mwansa the wife to the victim and asked for his cousin but he was told that he was still sleeping since they slept very late the previous night.
She said he left and sat at a nearby shop and after some time at around 1300 hours, he saw people frequenting his cousin’s house and when he inquired, he was told that his cousin was not well.
“He then rushed there and when he entered the house, he found the victim lying unconscious on the floor in the sitting room.
Whilst in the house, he saw Ben Sichali 23, the alleged lover to his cousin’s wife coming out from the victim’s bed room,” she said.
Ms Zulu said the victim was later rushed to Kafubu Block Clinic where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
She said the matter was reported to police who in turn visited the crime scene.
The body was inspected thoroughly and a black patch around the left eye was found. The body of the deceased was conveyed to Thomson District Hospital Mortuary awaiting post mortem to ascertain the actual cause of death.
