A 21-year-old woman of Ndola has committed suicide by hanging herself on a tree after she was alleged to have been going out with a married man.
Agness Mwape who hanged herself with a blue and white necktie at a graveyard in Lubutom on December 18, 2022, was found with someone’s husband.
And the relatives to the same married woman uttered some words of threats on the victim and left.
Copper belt Police Commanding Officer Peacewell Mweemba said that On December 20, 2022, the victim left home at 18:00hrs without telling anyone where she was going.
He said on December 21, 2022 at 06:30hrs people who went to the graveyard found a woman hanging to a tree, and reported to Lubuto Police post.
Mr Mweemba said officers rushed to the scene and physically inspection the body and no visible injuries were observed, apart from her foot marks and slippers at the scene.
He said the Body has since been deposited to Ndola teaching hospital mortuary awaiting possible postmortem to ascertain the actual cause of death and burial.
