Dear Editor,
Why has the government banned the use of plastic bags but has allowed the sale of the same plastic bags in most of these supermarkets or chain stores like Shoprite, Pick n Pay, Jet and others?
Initially we thought these supermarkets would be providing paper bags which are environmental friendly but we are shocked that now plastics have become money spinning business of the chain stores.
How do these chain expect their customers to carry the items they buy from them if they don’t provide carrier bags?
Let Government intervene.
