Nchanga Constituency PF Chairperson Gilly Mwape has eulogised Nchanga Member of Parliament Chali Chilombo for providing leadership when Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) faced problems.
Mr Mwape said Chingola and all districts that house KCM are proud of Mr Chilombo for solitary effort in exposing ills of KCM investor.
Speaking during the Nchanga Constituency PF Executive come together party held at Micus Guest House over the wekened, Mr Mwape said his executive was proud of their MP.
“You seized every platform to talk about Vedanta and their failure to reinvest in KCM. Parliament and all media houses knew you for that until our President Edgar Lungu heard your cry. The role of the Parliamentarian is to speak for his people and lobby for action. In this case you lobbied for Vedanta’s disengagement.
“You are our leader in whom we are proud of and always continue fighting for others. Vedanta appeared untouchable but you never cared about it until you accomplished your mission,” he said.
He said the purpose of the party was for interaction among the executive as a way of fostering unity.
Mr Mwape advised the executive to visit the Nchanga Constituency National Assembly office and familiarise themselves with the work of the MP and Professional Assistant.
He said the peace being enjoyed among the Nchanga Constituency PF structures is a pure sign that the constituency will have a plain sailoring campaigns in 2021.
And Mr Chilombo thanked the executive for rallying behind him.
He said every commander executes his duties with confidence when he knows that he has supportive team.
He implored the executive to continue being with the people.
“The 2021 elections will be tough and the voters will be eating from every candidate but they will remember those that stood with them.
“The secret is youth and women empowerment. Once we empower our people we will improve their living standards. UNIP ruled for 27 years, MMD ruled for 20 years but why should PF rule for 10?” he wondered.
