We’ve good roads, let investors’ come-Chingola DC

Chingola District Commissioner Agnes Tonga says Chingola is infrastructural ready to receive move investment.

Speaking during the Independence Day, Ms Tonga said President Edgar Lungu and his government have worked on the roads in Chingola.

She said Chingola is now fertile for investment in mining, agriculture and tourism.

The DC is encouraging both local and foreign investors to utilize the vast land in Chingola and invest in value added manufacturing industry.

This to her will not just provide a market for farmers but create employment for people of Chingola.

“At the moment we have the nicely built roads, we are therefore wooing investors to come and invest in Chingola. What we are lacking at the moment is economic viability of the district but my government is determined to provide leadership.

“The lock down due to coronavirus had and has greatly affected business not only in Chingola but across the globe but we need now to stand up and mitigate the situation,” she said,” she said.

The DC said one of the key attributes of Zambia is its peace and peaceful transition of government during the general elections.

Ms Tonga said despite the country heading to polls next year, the investors will have nothing to worry because historically Zambia prides in peaceful elections.

She called on the political players to have mutual respect for other as democracy requires respect and maturity.
