President Edgar Lungu says it is impossible to govern Zambia without God and the Bible.
Mr Lungu who is the Patron of Bible Society said it is an honor to participate in the spreading of the gospel through the distribution of Bibles.
Speaking during the launch of the 2019 membership Bible Society of Zambia, the President said the work of Bible Society is vital in the country’s desire to actualize the declaration of Zambia as a Christian Nation.
“The vision statement of the Bible Society, which is: “to see Zambia transformed by the Bible,” is a call to all of us to ensure that our country is indeed transformed through the word of God.”
“I recall what George Washington, former president of the United States of America, once said, and I quote: it is impossible to rightly govern the world without god and the Bible,” President Lungu said.
He said the quote is a serious call to all leaders across the board to embrace the word of God as they lead.
