The Department of Immigration wishes to set the record straight on the issuance of Border Passes at the Victoria Falls Border Control in Livingstone.
Contrary to alarming reports trending on some social media platforms, that the Department had suspended the issuance of Border Passes at the Victoria Falls Border Control.
Department of Immigration Public Relation Manager Namati Nshinka said the Border Passes are still being issued.
Mr Nshinka said it was true that in the run up to the Easter Holidays, the Department ran out of the border passes owing to the higher than expected traffic flows.
He said the situation has since been rectified and the issuance of Border Passes is going on smoothly.
Mr Nshika said sufficient stocks of Border Passes have also been supplied to the said Border Control, to ensure the Border Control does not experience another disruption.
“The Department deeply regrets the interruption in the issuance of Border Passes experienced at Victoria Falls Border Control in the run up to the Easter Holidays. We shall endeavor to avoid disruptions in the future,” he said.
