We aim to build a strong local Community economy-GPZ

Golden Party of Zambia (GPZ) Parliamentary candidate for Mufulira Central Constituency Jackson Silavwe says that once elected, he will build a strong local community economy in his Constituency to support the residents.

Mr Silavwe said that since the privatization of the mines the economy of the Copperbelt has been in an exhausted  state.

He said the once vibrant economy that supported the country’s major Labor force is a shadow of the past and Mufulira is not an exception.

Mr Silavwe said that Mufulira Central Constituency and other Copperbelt Towns needs to build a strong local community economies to spur local growth to effectively bring down the high poverty levels.

“As Golden Party of Zambia (GPZ), we strongly believe that community economic development is key to expanding access to capital for small businesses, increasing local access to consumer goods and services, expanding the local entrepreneurial base, expanding local employment opportunities, giving neighborhoods more control over ownership of local resources and connecting residents and businesses to the regional economy,” he said.

He said he will initiate a community based economic approach to effectively respond to the most pressing problems facing Mufulira Central Constituency such as lack of jobs, drug and alcohol abuse, violence and crime also lack of support for local farmers.
