Warehouse closed for operating under insanitary conditions

By IREEN MULENGA
Chililabombwe Municipal Council has closed down a warehouse in Kasumbalesa Border Market for operating under insanitary conditions.

Council Director of Public Health Gift Sakanyi disclosed that the warehouse was ordered to close after inspections by Public Health Inspectors and Council Police.

“During the inspections, the officers found the warehouse operating under unhealthy conditions forcing the closure of the premises,” he said.

He said the Director engaged the property owners to quickly rectify the situation if they were to remain operational.

Dr Sakanyi has appealed to business owners to ensure they work under proper sanitary and healthy conditions to avoid outbreak of diseases in businesses premises.

He urged traders to comply with the Law stating that any traders or persons found wanting will risk being prosecuted.

This is contained in a statement issued by Annedy Kangwa Public Relations Officer.
