Chipolopolo head coach Wedson ‘Wada’ Nyirenda had dumped underperforming Chipolopolo to join a South African Premier Soccer League Baroka FC.
Nyirenda played most of his football career in South Africa and he has been under fire for underperforming of the Chipolopolo boys thereby making him look for a coaching job elsewhere.
Media in South Africa say it has been confirmed Wada has left the Chipolopolo job heading to Mzansi.
And the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) General Secretary Pasipononga Liwewe confirmed the resignation of Nyirenda in a media statement.
“The association wishes to thank Nyirenda for his contribution towards the national team and for the sterling work he put into his job. The process to fill the vacancy of Head Coach will begin and the Association will conclude the process in the shortest possible time to meet upcoming engagements,” he said.
Wada served as national coach from September 2016 to May 2018 and under him nothing tangle was recorded by Chipolopolo.
