Voting in Luanshya steady

Voting in Luanshya is underway and turn out in all the 43 polling stations in roan constituency is steady.

Luanshya District Electoral Officer Timothy Mambalakata confirmed that all the 43 polling stations opened at 06:00 hours.

Mr Mambalakata said he has not received any incident were a polling station has not opened.

He said people are eager to vote and that by 10 hours at Chikapa polling station 238 voters had already cast their votes.

There are 35, 277 registered voters on Roan. In the last election, Chishimba  Kambwili got 11, 397 votes ahead of Andrew Kayekesi of the UPND who managed 5, 099 votes, Ditar Munsanje, and Independent received 1, 857 votes.

The other contestants were Basilio Mulenga of FDD and Daniel Chibwe of Rainbow who collected 888 votes and 366 votes respectively.

Bwafwano community centre had 150 out of 745 registered voters
