Votingin Katuba parliamentary By-election in Chibombo is going on peacefully and calmly in almost all the polling stations with some polling stations recording low turn out.
By 11 hrs Chalabana polling station, 70Km west of Lusaka in Katuba had recorded 102 voters out of 259 registered voters.
At Kalala polling station with two streams, about 65kms west of Lusaka in Katuba recorded close to 500 voters who voted out of 1539 registered by 11hrs with sizeable queues outside the streams.
All stations have polling party agents and monitoring groups observing voting.
All stations opened on time though at Kalala the ECZ stamp is faint prompting the presiding officers to report to their support centres.
All voting materials are in sufficient quantities including braille jackets.
Police presence is discreet and non intimidating.
We encourage the registered voters to utilise this opportunity and choose their representative who will represent their needs and interests in the National Assembly for the next 2years.
We encourage all participating parties namely UPPZ, UPND and PF to continue maintaining and promoting peace up to the close of the polls.
