The Republican vice President Inonge Wina has been evacuated to South Africa for medical treatment of her heart condition.
Health Minister Chitalu Chilufya said during the press briefing in Lusaka this morning that Mrs Wina was evacuated to South Africa for a thorough medical check up.
Dr Chilufya said Mrs Wina was last night rushed to the University Teaching Hospital where a team of Zambian Doctors had examined and treated her.
“And to consolidate her scheduled medical review, President Edgar Lungu has facilitated the evacuation of Mrs Wina to South Africa for thorough medical check up of her heart condition.
“Her condition is stable and she is in good spirit,” he said.
Mrs Wina had early this year gone to India for treatment of her heart condition but ever since she returned her public appearances has drastically reduced.
