United Party for National Development UPND has sent a message of congratulations to the PF for holding their Convention in a peaceful atmosphere.
UPND Deputy Secretary General Patrick Mucheleka said that the PF convention ushered in their Central Committee without casting a single vote.
Mr Mucheleka said that it is worrying that youths and women were left out of the newly appointed PF leadership and there is no regional balancing.
“We would like to congratulate our colleagues in the PF for successfully holding their virtual convention in a peaceful atmosphere, But we recognize that PF is a party with its own rules and aspirations and they can decide to do what they want in accordance with their desires,” he said.
He said the power lies in the people Zambia to choose a political party that is truly uniting and offers the best policies.
Mr Mucheleka said that the majority of the political parties have held their conventions and they look forward to have a peaceful campaign period devoid of hate language and violence.
He said parties should offer the Zambian people positive messages of what they intends to do in alleviating poverty and hunger ravaging the country.
