Twelve Apostles Parish Priest Fr Martin Bwalya has called on Christians to uphold Christian values of unity and peace as the country heads towards the polls.
Fr Bwalya said that regardless of political affiliation people should not engage in political violence, because elections come and go.
Speaking after the mass in Chingola Yesterday, Fr Bwalya emphasized the need to embrace peace and cherish the peace the country is enjoying.
“As the Country heads to the polls and as Christians we should not became enemies to one another because of politics, we are in a democratic country and people should enjoy it by belonging to any political party they feel like, let us not hate one another because somebody doesn’t belong to political parties where we are, “ he said.
Fr Bwalya said Zambia is a Christian Nation and people should preach peace and unity in this year’s campaign’s.
He said violence does not solve problems but it brings the economy down.
Fr Bwalya encouraged Christians to continue praying for peace for Mother Zambia before, during and after elections in order to have free and fair elections.
He also urged Christians to continue adhering to Covid-19 health guidelines put in place by the health authorities because covid-19 should not be taken for granted.
