Police in Chingola have apprehended two individuals in connection with the alleged abduction of four juvenile boys from Kapisha Township.

According to reports, Lizzy Mbewe, 43, filed a complaint stating that her 11-year-old son was abducted by unknown individuals.

On September 12, 2024, around 18:00 hours, Mrs. Mbewe discovered her son was missing and began searching for him. She soon received information that her son, along with three other children, had been abducted by Deborah Sinyangwe, 28, of Kapisha Township.

Copperbelt Police Commissioner Peacewell Mweemba confirmed the arrests and stated that Deborah Sinyangwe disclosed during questioning that the three other children were taken to Chisangwe Farm Block in Kalulushi District by her mother, Rosemary Chabu. Only two of the children, aged 11 and 13, were released and brought back to Chingola.

Brian Kalamba, 32, a farm worker, has also been detained to assist in retrieving the remaining two boys, who were taken to Kalulushi Farm Block to herd cattle.

The parents of the other three children have yet to be located.
