Twatasha Ward Councillor educate community on CEEC, CDF Loans

By ALICE NACHILEMBE
Twatasha Ward Councillor, Jeff Musonda, is dedicated to improving the livelihoods of his constituents and has taken the initiative to educate them about the opportunities available through the Citizen Economic Empowerment Commission (CEEC) loans and Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

Recognizing the power of knowledge, Mr. Musonda believes that many people in his community lack information on accessing these financial resources, which can significantly enhance their living standards.

During a recent community engagement in his ward, Mr. Musonda emphasized that while people may be aware of the existence of CDF and CEEC, they often lack the necessary knowledge on how to obtain these loans and funding.

In an effort to address this issue, he encouraged members of his ward to form cooperatives, which would enable them to benefit from empowerment loans and CDF.

The government’s intention, Mr. Musonda explained, is to empower individuals in various locations and at all levels of society, hence the importance of disseminating this crucial information to those in need.

To support the community’s entrepreneurial endeavors, the ward Councillor provided guidance on how to apply for loans as both cooperatives and individuals. Additionally, Mr. Musonda expressed his gratitude to Chipoka Mulenga, the Member of Parliament for Chingola, for consistently collaborating with Councillors and ensuring effective service delivery.

As a gesture of goodwill, the Councillor distributed mealie meal to the attendees of the meeting, further demonstrating his commitment to the welfare of his constituents.

One community member, Clera Mubanga, expressed her gratitude to Mr. Mulenga for taking the time to meet with them and explain the intricacies of CDF and CEEC loans.

Ms. Mubanga noted that this was the first time they had a leader who provided such comprehensive information about these financial opportunities.

She emphasized that many people, especially those in townships with limited education, lack awareness and understanding of these loans, making Mr. Mulenga’s efforts invaluable to the community.
