Musokotwane Compassion Mission Zambia (MCMZ) in partnership with Lubuto Library says traditional leaders
play a pivot role in effecting rural girls development.
The organisations have commended traditional leaders in Monze district for the development in their Chiefdoms.
Speaking when they paid a courtesy call on His Royal Highness Chief Mwanza of the Tonga speaking people yesterday MCMZ Executive Director, Sibbuku Genious Musokotwane expressed gratitude toward the traditional leaders.
He said chiefs playing a pivotal role in accelerating the implementation of the Communities for Change Project in Nabukuyu village would attaining the project successes for the year 2019.
Mr Musokotwane said that their working visit in Monze district is to further engage traditional leaders on the successes and challenges recorded throughout 2019, build capacity and develop a joint 2020 Annual Work Plan for Chief Mwanza and Chief Chona Chiefdoms.
He praised the two Chiefdoms for utilizing the Mumuni Nabukuyu Library, adding that public libraries play a vital role in increasing rural literacy levels and advancing development for women and adolescent girls living at risk of sexual violence.
And His Royal Highness Chief Mwanza thanked Lubuto Library Partners and MCMZ for their continued support towards the two Chiefdoms on ending child marriage and Gender Based violence against women and girls.
The traditional ruler said that positive strides are being recorded in the Chiefdoms with a number of girls having been retrieved in the 2019.
And Lubuto Library Partners Acting Country Director, Hadassah Kasukumya assured the traditional leaders of their continued support towards ending child marriage and creating viable opportunities for vulnerable women and adolescent girls.
