TP Mazembe trio recalled to Chipolopolo

By Sports Writer
The TP Mazembe trio of Kabaso Chongo, Nathan Sinkala and Rainford Kalaba have all bounced back into the Zambian National team after Sven Vandenbroek announced his 26 man squad this morning at football house ahead of the Afcon 2019 qualifier against Namibia in Windhoek on the 8th of September 2018.

The trio last featured for Zambia two years ago and the new look squad also includes Israeli based fullback Emmanuel Mbola who last featured for Zambia over three years ago.

The squad also includes 11 players from the Zambia Super League with Zesco United striker Lazarous Kambole who recently created history by scoring the quickest hatrick in Caf Champions League history.

Other notable players from the ZSL are Red Arrows captain Bruce Musakanya who makes a return after almost four years out of the National team as well as Green Eagles winger Spencer Sautu who has been in red hot form over the last couple of months while foreign based players such as Patson Daka, Enock Mwepu from Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg and the Orlando Pirates duo of Augustine Mulenga and Justin Shonga have also been called up.

The biggest surprise of players that have been left out is former Zanaco FC defender Ziyo Tembo who has featured consistently for Zambia since 2016 and Zesco United fullback Fackson Kapumbu who was nominated among the best players in Africa last season.

Zambia enters camp on August the 30th to prepare for the Namibia match.
