Toilet is the center of hygiene- Mulonga water

Mulonga water and Supply Company says a better understanding of the toilet leads to the safely managed sanitation.

Mulonga Water Public Relation Officer Bright Mtonga said the company want to bring an understanding of the toilet.

Mr Mtonga said that the toilet is the center of the house and it is where hygiene starts from.

He said the company is sensitizing its customers on the importance of keeping the toilet in a proper way.

Mr Mtonga said the company on this day is also observing other hygiene ways and encouraging children to wash their hands after using the toilet.

Speaking during World Toilet Day roadshow he said the roadshow is one way of taking the message of the importance of the toilet to the door of the customer.

He said with this year’s celebrations, the company had chose the roadshow into Townships to take the message of access to safe toilets as one way of “leaving no one behind.”

Mr Mtonga told the people to stop misusing Mulonga infrastructure by vandalizing them.

“Sometimes we experience blockages because of usage not because pipe lines are old. Vandalism is one act that is hindering development because the pipes are bought at a great cost, lets work together so that we ensure to have a clean environment and protect our lives,” he said.

Mwaka Mvula a Kapisha resident said that she was happy to know that there was such thing as World Toilet because it shows how important toilet issues are.
