The economy will get back on track-ZCTU

The Zambia Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU) says it is positive that the country’s economy will get back on track in view of the strategic policies that the Government is implementing.

ZCTU President Nkole Chishimba said the policies of Government have given hope for improved national economic performance, than was the case during the previous Government.

Mr Chishimba also appealed to the Government to come up with an indaba to discuss a number of issues surrounding the energy sector.

He said the energy sector indaba should consider the best ways of deliberating on the removal of subsidies on electricity, among other issues.

Mr Chishimba called on the UPND Government to remain focused on policies that are meant to create more jobs and wealth creation for the people.

The ZCTU president said the Government ought to put an end to the brutality which characterized the past government and resulted in a number of civil servants retired on political ground.
