Forest Rangers Coach Tenant Chilumba says his team will target maintaining their stay in the top four of the Super Division after victory over Kitwe United took them into third position.

The Ndola outfit on Sunday battered Kitwe 4-0 in a Super Division Week 12 encounter at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium to dislodge Zesco United from the third position.

Victory against Kitwe took their positions tally to 19 points at par with Zesco though they have a superior goal difference.

Chilumba said in a post-match interview at that his team will continue working hard so as to finish in the top four like last season.

“I think we our experience now is to maintain finishing in the top four like we did last season. We will continue working hard so that we maintain our stay in the top four,” Chilumba said.

Forest finished second last season to qualify to play continental football.

Chilumba saluted his charges for bouncing back to winning ways following their defeat to Kabwe Warriors in the previous game.

“It is a good result coming from the loss against Kabwe Warriors I think the boys put up a good game and ofcourse pressure was there coming from a loss. Our target was to get maximum points,” he said.

And Chilumba says Forest will miss goalkeeper Mathias Kigonya and striker Adams Zikiru, who have joined Azam of Tanzania and Lusaka Dynamos respectively.

“We will miss Kogonya, a very good goalkeeper then Zikiru, good player and good finisher but we just have to forge ahead. We still have strikers in Kola and Moro plus the goalkeeper Daniel did well today in his first game,” he said.

Chilumba, who heaped praise on goalkeeper Daniel Mutshinemu and striker Quadri Kola for their performance against Kitwe also confirmed that Forest have made headways in their pursuit of a new striker.

“We are still recruiting and we will be done soon,” he said.

Mutshinemu was in goal against Kitwe while Nigerian Kola scored a brace to take his goal tally to six for the season.
